Kafka

Have a great day.

Franz Kafka, frustrated with his living quarters and day

job, wrote in a letter to Felice Bauer in 1912, “time is

short, my strength is limited, the office is a horror, the

apartment is noisy, and if a pleasant, straightforward life

is not possible then one must try to wriggle through by

subtle maneuvers.”

Feel good

Have a great day. Forward mail. Go green.

I grew up with practical parents. A mother, God love her, who washed aluminum foil after she cooked in it, then reused it. She was  the original recycle queen before they had a name for it. A father who was happier getting old shoes fixed than buying new ones.

Their marriage was good, their dreams focused. Their best friends lived barely a wave away.

I can see them now, Dad in trousers, tee shirt and a hat and Mom in a house dress, lawn mower in one hand, and dish-towel in the other. It was the time for fixing things. A curtain rod, the kitchen radio, screen door, the oven door, the hem in a dress. Things we keep.

It was a way of life, and sometimes it made me crazy. All that re-fixing, eating, renewing, I wanted just once to be wasteful. Waste meant affluence. Throwing things away meant you knew there'd always be more.

But then my mother died, and on that clear summer's night, in the warmth of the hospital room, I was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't any more.

Sometimes, what we care about most gets all used up and goes away...never to return.. So... While we have it..... it's best we love it.... And care for it... And fix it when it's broken......... And heal it when it's sick.

This is true. For marriage....... And old cars..... And children with bad report cards..... And dogs with bad hips.... And aging parents...... And grandparents. We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it.
Some things we keep. Like a best friend that moved away or a classmate we grew up with.

There are just some things that make life important, like people we know who are special........ And so, we keep them close!

I received this from someone who thinks I am a 'keeper', so I've sent it to the people I think of in the same way... Now it's your turn to send this to those people that are "keepers" in your life. Good friends are like stars.... You don't always see them, but you know they are always there. Keep them close!

When you die, 10 things GOD won't ask you:

1..... God won't ask what kind of car you drove. He'll ask how many people you drove who didn't have transportation..

2..... God won't ask the square footage of your house, He'll ask how many people you welcomed into your home.

3..... God won't ask about the clothes you had in your closet, He'll ask how many you helped to clothe.

4..... God won't ask what your highest salary was. He'll ask if you compromised your character to obtain it.

5..... God won't ask what your job title was. He'll ask if you performed your job to the best of your ability.

6..... God won't ask how many friends you had. He'll ask how many people to whom you were a friend.

7..... God won't ask in what neighborhood you lived, He'll ask how you treated your neighbors.

8..... God won't ask about the color of your skin, He'll ask about the content of your character.

9..... God won't ask why it took you so long to find Him and ask Him into your house, He'll lovingly take you to heaven and not to the gates of Hell.

10..... God won't have to ask how many people you forwarded this to, He already knows your decision.

Honour invitations

Have a great day. Picture courtesy google. Original story

I told my 15-year-old son that when I was in school nobody invited me for birthday parties or marriage functions.
And when I went to college a friend invited me to attend his brother’s marriage. I did not attend the marriage ceremony as I did not take it seriously, owing to the mind-set built up while I was in school.
The result; I lost friendship, as my friend did not talk to me again till date.

Humane

Have a great day.

Once I was travelling by a train when a group of people were discussing and debating on various issues till they felt hungry and went into mute, eating meals.
I put forth their views, arguments, opinions and suggestions after managing to stitch them together.

I write down some of their words and will use alphabetic as I don’t know their names.

A-  Meeting new people has become dangerous following match fixing, betting, chit funds, profits from real estate and nexus among different interest groups.
B-  There should not be any hesitancy in avoiding new people or looking the other way when coming across fake and fraud persons, because it will save you from unnecessary controversies that would go out of your control.
C-  Religious fanatics should be avoided at any cost, even if it leads one to leave one’s town, because the fandoos are conditioned that way and they don’t think in a balanced and neutral way that our Constitution enshrines.
D-  Grains are rotting in go-downs while the intestines of the poor is rotting with hunger.
E-  So long there is no fellow feeling, communalism, racism, castiesm and parochialism will continue to deprive the human beings from realizing their inherent potential, ability, capability, capacity and usefulness in making the world a peaceful and fruitful place to live.
F-  Protests by an individual is seen as madness while the same is termed as democracy when staged by groups, political parties and organizations.
G- Cruelty in any way----beating, assaulting or torturing mentally--- is an inhuman act. And one should desist from such things to make the world a peaceful and worthy place to spend.
H-  No to smoking, boozing and betting is the need of the hour as the world is going through a stressful phase.
I-     Putting words in another’s mouth is criminal and pulling gentlemen into controversies is meanness.
J-   Throwing muck on innocent reflects the poor upbringing of the hurler.
K-  There is no harm in turning away from negative people even if they are your friends or relatives----this will give enough time to work in the larger interest of the society, and prevents nepotism and favouratism.
L-  Instead of opening new fronts of enmity, one should start closing the existing hostile fronts.
M-Blackmailers should not be allowed to go without punishment.
N-  Words should automatically turn into actions, and the deed will help the  common man, lest the talkative will be branded as ‘tin of empty words’.
O- Never lose hope as a good phase is on its way.
