Corruption Point

Have a great day.

Motivational Guru Robert H. Schuller observes in one of his books, “I still am shocked recalling the time I was in the Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C. A bellhop pointed out a room that had been totally sprayed with broken glass – everywhere.

I was so depressed. Why? I wondered. It wasn’t my doing. It was no expense to me. I analyzed the depression as an expression of inner shame. But why should I be ashamed when I didn’t do it?

Then the insight came clearly. I was ashamed because I knew this was done by one of my relatives. Yes, it was done by a human being, not by apes or dogs or animals.

And every human being is a distant relative of mine. And by despicable behavior, some fellow human being had just contributed to the lowering of my self-esteem!”

Read his observations once again, but only after substituting 'bellhop' with corruption and 'broken glass' with scams.

What is your feeling now? Is your inner voice reacts?

The most valuable contribution a citizen can make amid a plethora of scams in our country is to feel guilty and hang his head in shame.

When I asked a friend what he thought about corruption he said “I am still hopeful that the powers-that-be can overcome the scam bug. All they have to do is, instead of ordering probe after probe they should have a self-regulatory mechanism that could kill the corruption bug before it kills the society.”

What is more surprising is every political party accuses the other of corruption. Does it point towards 'hum sab chor hein' ?

In my opinion it will not only help consumers save some money but also
inculcate the habit of reading.
